The length of the Trans Mongolian railway between Sukhbaatar station on the South border with Russian Federation and Zamiin Uud station on the North border with China is 1110 kilometers. For instance, the cargo shipped through Mongolia from Brest on Polish-Belarusian border to Tianjin port of China and vice versa, is 1135 kilometers shorter than through East Siberian, Manchurian railways and 1600 kilometers shorter than through Central Asian, Hungarian railways. Therefore the transportation of cargo via Mongolia by IFFC is cost effective and time saving.
